This 3rd ICON LATERALS proceeding consisted of 34 reviewed papers under the following subthemes of (1) language, identity and gender (2) applied linguistics studies, (3) literature and media culture, (4) cultural studies, and (5) second language learning. Prior to this publication the selected papers have been reviewed by three different reviewers to provide more comprehensive and in-depth perspectives for the intended respected readers in the respected areas. The keynote speakers invited to the conference, Prof. Tony McEnery from Lancaster University, Honorary Associate Professor Michael Harrington from The University of Queensland, Assistant Professor Karl Ian Uy Cheng Chua, Ph.D. from Ateneo de Manila University the Phillipines, Associate Professor Hamamah, Ph.D. from Universitas Brawijaya Indonesia, and Associate Professor Li Yunjing, Ph.D., from Tianjin Foreign Studies University China have provided some insightful ideas for enriching the multidisciplinary perspectives of the selected articles in this proceeding.
